As I reflect on my 30th year of life, I can think of so many situations good and bad that have helped me arrive to where I am in life now. Not “arrive” in the sense that I have it ‘All together’ by any means. However, the place that I have arrived to mentally and physically is a place that I can honestly say I wanted to be, at 30! For that reason, I am blessed! I wanted to share 30 lessons learned along the way that I hope might help someone else:

1. Don’t give to be charitable. Give to be a blessing! It’s okay to give to those that you ‘assume‘ have more than you.

2. Never take good health for granted. That can change overnight regardless of age, race, genes or eating habits! Treat your body as a temple but also pray daily for continued good health!

3. Buy smart! Don’t waste chunks of your income on things you won’t remember.

4. Put away any unexpected financial gifts for a rainy day and Budget your spending! You’ll be grateful later.

5. If you are only doing something for someone to get it back from them in return...Your heart may not be in the right place! Don’t do it.

6. Everyone that comes into your life has a purpose. Whether it be just something you need to hear them say, a short-term friendship/long-term, open door, access to opportunity! Don’t take relationships for granted.

7. It’s okay to let go of old friendships. Not that you can’t talk to that person anymore, but your season with that person may be expired.

8. You CANNOT do it all. Don’t stress about going to every single thing you may be invited to or giving to every cause. You can’t do it all.

9. Be mentally ready for YOUR plans not to go as planned! Things will go as they are supposed to go!

10. Only make time to tend to your own business and business you are invited to. Spend the rest of your time building.

11. Don’t plant bad seeds in someone else’s yard and expect yours to flourish.

12. Don’t think not supporting someone is going to diminish your success. Support those behind and ahead of you! What God has for you, YOU will reap.

13. For every bad situation ASK God what he wants you to learn in that situation.

14. Love and honor your parents with your words and actions. Regardless of any family issues, this is a biblical principle.

15. Call people by their names often. People love to hear their name!

16. It’s okay to talk to a therapist! Get one.

17. If you are going to be successful in anything long term, God must be in the mix!

18. Buy land, buy houses! These are things

that will go up in value. Clothes and cars will not!

19. Don’t depend on others to bring you joy. You gotta find that within yourself.

20. Don’t assume. Fact check everything necessary.

21. Check on those that you love often. We all need that!

22. Keep negative thoughts away from your mind regarding other people. When they come...rebuke them!

23. Positive energy creates more positive energy!

24. No one is obligated to be kind to you! Say, “Thank you” and say it often!

25. Do that thing you want to do but you’re afraid of.

26. Keep pushing ahead. Nothing worth having is going to come easy!

27. It’s okay to be happy for other people when you are not in a happy place!

28. Jealousy is disgusting! Keep it out your heart.

29. Don’t believe everything you hear about someone. Collect your own analysis

30. If you feel led, GIVE when it hurts, when it’s HARD, when it’s next to your last. That’s allowing God to show you his power.

Bonus: Drink A lot of water!

Be blessed,

Adero
